AI Professional Development for Teachers
Digital Alchemy provides AI professional development for teachers built around practice: your staff test tools on their own lessons, redesign assignments for the AI era, and write the classroom rules they will actually use. It runs as half-day or full-day sessions for a full staff, led by a Google Gemini Certified Educator.
Taught by Desi Baker (Desmond Baker Jr), a Google Gemini Certified Educator who has taught AI through the Chicago Housing Authority and spoken at AI Tinkerers.
Book a free planning callWho this is for
- Administrators buying PD for a full staff or district institute day
- Instructional coaches planning a year of AI learning, not a single event
- Teacher leaders who will carry the work after the session ends
What students walk away with
- Every teacher builds at least one classroom-ready AI activity in their subject
- Shared rules for student AI use, drafted by your staff, in your policy's language
- Assessment redesign practice: making AI help visible instead of banned or hidden
- A written follow-up pack: activities, rules, and recommended next steps
What the market charges, and where we sit
Published pricing for comparable teacher AI PD runs from about $2,000 for a two-hour session to about $5,500 for a full day for large staff groups, and free options exist from universities and state programs. Free is a fine start for individual teachers. Full-staff change needs a planned day, practice time, and follow-through, and that is what a paid PD day buys.
Session design
- Foundations in plain language: what AI is, where it fails, what to verify
- Subject practice labs: teachers work on their real units and assessments
- Rules workshop: your staff drafts classroom AI rules together
- Close with commitments: each teacher names the first activity they will run
Series and follow-through
One day starts the work. Schools that want it to stick book a short series: a launch day, a mid-year practice session, and an end-of-year review. Series are quoted per program after a free planning call.

Does this count toward PD hours?
Sessions include agendas, learning goals, attendance records, and completion certificates your district can file. Whether hours count toward a specific requirement is your district's call.
Can the session be virtual?
Yes. Virtual sessions keep the same practice structure, with shared docs for the activity and rules work. In-person is recommended for a first full-staff day.
What do teachers need to bring?
A laptop and one real lesson or assessment they teach. Everything else, tools, templates, and examples, is provided.
