How to use the counter

  1. Put each sung line on its own line, the same way you would paste it into Suno.
  2. Start each part with a tag such as [Verse 1], [Chorus] or [Bridge].
  3. Fix the red lines first. Split long lines, trim filler words, or add a word to very short lines.
  4. Check that Verse 1 and Verse 2 have similar averages, then paste the result into Suno.

Questions about Suno syllables

How many syllables per line should Suno lyrics have?

There is no fixed number. A common guideline for sung lines is about 6 to 10 syllables. What matters more is consistency: lines in the same section, and repeated sections like Verse 1 and Verse 2, should have similar counts, because they share a melody.

Why does Suno rush, rap, or skip some of my lines?

Suno fits your words to a rhythm. When one line has far more syllables than the lines around it, Suno has to squeeze it in, so it speeds up or switches to a rap flow. Very short lines can get stretched or merged with the next line. Evening out the counts usually fixes it.

Does Suno read [Verse] and [Chorus] tags?

Yes. Suno uses bracket tags like [Verse], [Chorus], [Bridge] and [Outro] as structure cues. They guide the song but do not guarantee it. This checker uses the same tags to group your lines and compare sections.

Are words in parentheses counted?

They are counted separately. Suno usually sings text in (parentheses) as backing vocals, so the main count covers only the lead line, and the backing syllables are shown underneath.

How accurate is the syllable count?

It is a rule-based estimate, not a dictionary lookup. It is right for most everyday lyric words, but names, slang, and unusual words can be off by one. Use it to find lines that stand out, not to hit an exact number.

Are my lyrics saved or uploaded?

No. The checker runs in your browser. Nothing you paste is sent to a server or stored, and you do not need an account.
